Tettegouche Treecare is looking for extra help this summer and is hiring a 2026 Summer Tree Care Technician! In this position you will work outside and gain experience in tree pruning, planting, removal, and equipment use/maintenance. You will be exposed to the latest tree climbing and rigging techniques, learn a variety of knots, stay active, and develop skills in the use of chainsaws and other equipment. We are a small company who prioritizes employee safety and wellbeing, as well as tree preservation and health.

No experience is necessary; we will teach you what you need to know. If you are passionate about trees and want to make a career in them, we are happy to spend extra time training you. If you are just looking to be outside and get a workout, that’s alright too!

This is a 20-40 hour/week (flexible) summer position based out of Duluth, MN, we are currently hiring for our 2026 season. We can accommodate start and end dates that coincide with your summer schedule. If you are currently going to school for a natural resources/environmental science related field, this position may fulfill a college internship requirement. It is not required you are in school or studying a related field to apply.

What You Will Do:

  • Assist from the ground in rigging and rope work associated with tree removal and pruning.
  • Drag brush, move logs, rake, operate a woodchipper, log loader, stump grinder, etc.
  • Perform gear and equipment maintenance and inspection.
  • Drive trucks, sometimes with a trailer (must have a valid driver’s license and ability to obtain a DOT health card).

This is a physical job done outside, sometimes in adverse weather conditions.

  • Pay is $18-22/hour
  • Paid time off
  • Annual Bonus (if you work over 400 hours/year)
  • We provide all required safety gear, tools, etc.
