Every week, we produce several truck loads of wood chips (mulch) and logs from trees we prune and remove - we also need a place to dump them! If you want either of these delivered to your house for free and meet all the criteria below, sign up to be on our list!
We will contact you at least once prior to dumping. Being on this list does not guarantee we will dump at your site.
Conditions to be on this list (read before signing up):
- Live in or immediately around the City of Duluth (preferred within or a few miles of city limits).
- Be willing to take at least 5 loads of woodchips or logs per year. A full load of chips is ~8 yards (4'x8'x8') and a load of logs is 4'x6'x12' (~1.5 cords).
- Have an accessible site for a dump truck/trailer. The easier the site is to turn around/dump the more likely we will dump there.
- Be alright with us dumping given minimal/no notice.
What are the wood chips like?
- They will probably have leaves, possibly rakings and/or small chunks of wood in them. They are not like what you would buy at a store or landscape center.
- They are great for trails, gardens, compost, etc.
What are the logs like?
- Great for people who burn a lot of wood!
- Everyone wants hardwood - you can note that you only accept hardwood, but if there is someone who is willing to take conifer and hardwood in the area, we will give them priority of a hardwood load. So in other words, if you are willing to accept everything, we will try to bring you more of what you want.
- Logs are not cut into firewood lengths and are cut into random sizes - up to 12' in length.
- Loads usually have rakings mixed in with them and although most logs are not, some may be rotten/decayed.
We will in no circumstances come back to pick up the load after it is dumped.
By adding your name to this list you agree to all of these conditions.
